Phase I Applications accepted: March 1, 2012 through March 23, 2012.  (Applications MUST be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on March 23, 2012.  No exceptions!)

Phase II Applications due (if selected to submit): Must be submitted June 1, 2012 by 4:00 p.m. No exceptions!

Priorities: Provides support to arts and culture, health and human services, educational and environmental programs

Geographical areas: Cities of Roanoke and Salem, Roanoke County, Botetourt County, Craig County, Smith Mt. Lake region and the New River Valley

Typical Grant size: Request MUST be a mininum of $30,000

Grants Process
Foundation for Roanoke Valley (FRV) will accept The Roanoke Women's Foundation (RWF) Phase I Applications from all qualified charitable organizations. The Roanoke Women’s Foundation (RWF) Grants Committee will review and evaluate the Phase I Applications.  If a Phase I Application is selected for further consideration, FRV staff will notify the organization via email and request a Phase II Application.  Phase II Applications are due June 1, 2012 by 4:00 p.m.  Please keep in mind that the RWF values concise, well-chosen language in all submissions.  After the RWF Grants Committee reviews and evaluates the Phase II Applications, it will recommend up to ten applications for the final ballot.  Ballots are mailed to all RWF members and grants are awarded at the RWF Annual Luncheon in November. 

Timeline
March 1: Phase I Applications accepted

March 23: Phase I Application deadline (Must be submitted by 4:00 p.m.)

May 1: Agencies will be notified via email of request to submit a Phase II Application  (Denial emails will be sent as well.)

June 1: Phase II Application deadline (Must be submitted by 4:00 p.m.)
June—September: Follow-up phone calls and/or site visits conducted by RWF Grants Committee
September: Finalists selected
November: Grant announcements

 

How to Apply?

Foundation for Roanoke Valley uses an ONLINE grant application process.  No paper applications will be accepted.  Before starting the online application process, we strongly encourage you to read the Online Grant Application Documentation.

Please print the Roanoke Women's Foundation question sheet to use as a reference as you are completing the online application.  Click here to download.  Be prepared to answer these questions in your Phase I Application using 6,000 characters or less to clearly and concisely describe your proposed project.
